Imprinted by a surprising oneiric atmosphere, C\u00f4me Led\u00e9sert’s movie captive by the evocation of what it doesn’t show. Migrants, drownings, distress of those who manage to get back to dry land, all of that remains off-camera, only suggested by animated, poetics and reccurents sequences, “persistents” like dreams – or traumas. Instead, the camera lingers on the intense blue gaze of a face marked by distress. Wether it’s by its speech, sometimes serious, sometimes light, wether it’s by its silences and the unspoken, that ordinary fisherman, filmed at ground level, represents, all by himself, the Lampedusa’s tragedy.<\/em><\/p>\n
