Knaster

The mistakes of idle and dreamy youth in a Scandinavian country.

How to describe this rite of passage where he child becomes and adult ? Knaster is playing on the thin balance between spontaneity and dramatization, moments of craziness and desillusions, explosions of joy and anger. It draws the portrait of a youth facing doubts, lost when looking at her dark future, for whom seeking alcohol is as important as a talk about the existence of God. A unity is yet ingrained here in this fragmented story, narrated under LSD, it’s the vagrancy. The one of the characters, lost between carelessness and philosphy, and the one of the movie, pushing experimentations to the extreme in moments of hallucination completely kitsch. This unusual documentary, mixing its images with the one of its characters (cell-phones, internet), allows itself everything to match the “body” of something unatainable. It makes us experiment a space out of time, where rebellious acts of teenagers are mixed with the questionnings of future grown-ups.
