As for most of you, the year 2020 has been complicated for FIDÉ and the festival’s volunteer team. The cancellation in April and then September of the festival has exhausted us. We wanted to stick to the principles of FIDÉ : more than showing films, it is the desire to create the meeting of the people who do it – directors, audience and team – that carries us the most. That’s why we immediately ruled out the possibility of showing the programme online.
After several months of hibernation, we have come to the conclusion that we want to put the festival on hold until conditions are more favourable.
But this does not mean that we are stopping our activities. 2021 will be an opportunity for us to develop other desires and to experiment. We will also try to find the right moment to finally present the selection of films from 2020 – a presentation that we hope will be convivial and on the big screen.
