As part of “Le Mois du film documentaire“, FIDÉ – Festival international du documentaire émergent, in collaboration with the Curry Vavart collective and the Archvio di Cinema del Reale, welcomes Cecilia Mangini and her accomplice, the documentary filmmaker Paolo Pisanelli, for a friendly screening and meeting.

Cecilia Mangini, born in 1927 in Mola di Bari, is a documentary filmmaker and photographer who from the beginning has taken a committed, attentive and personal look at the individual and society, with a particular focus on the themes of marginality and social injustice.
The first woman in Italy to shoot documentaries in the post-war period, author of a few feature films and more than forty short films, she was able to highlight the complex transition of her country, which was sometimes slowly moving away from fascism, towards an industrial society.
